Losing it
Honestly, I'm quite clueless as to why I'm even blogging now when I'm desperately chioning my GeogRA Geog Eye PT, followed by Geog eLearning (1 wk overdue) and SS. Oh how I hate SS.....urgh.
Well, since I don't plan to sleep at a godly hour tonight/tomorrow morning, I though I might as well slack off a bit. As well as give my com time to recover from intensive browsing of 800MB worth of photos.
Recently, I've been really lax. As in seriously, like not bothering to do worksheets (thank you so much people who charge me $1 for 'help'), not reading my notes and therefore end up lost and last minute mugging. Honestly, I really wonder to myself what's the point of stressing myself out. Is it for some stupid GPA that really encompassed sweat and tears? I mean, so what if I get a high GPA? Helpful in my testimonial? Get into RA which just stresses me out more? Using it as the only thing I'm good at which I actually am not?
I really hope I'll snap out of it soon. In the meantime, theres German test and Math TA (which I'll die coz I missed the lesson on box plot and the curve. woots)

Deutsch Unterricht
For now, the only enjoyable academic I seem to find is German class.
Oh yes, how ironic is that...to think it was supposed to be extra stress.
Haha. Honestly, it is so fun there. Jokes (really lame ones), people zao-hsia-ing, trying to do those rather hard grammar by think out really loud (with a constant checking with dear Martin's model answers).
Oh well, back to RI life.

jacked!
First day back in school. When people ask me about my holiday, I'll say "What holiday?" ><
Got back Math TA.....full marks for once. Yay!
EL both got 3.6. Screwed up vocab. 1/5. So much for actually having tried English DSA><
Then had HM Honour Roll interview by Mr Kelvin Yap and Mr Edward Ng. Asked quite a bit about NCC and RIPB. Forgot to mention all the InfoComm awards though XD. Rather formal for a 'chat'. ;)
Then had to meet serrupu for a while before AC pulled me away. Effectively went back to NCC for about 20 mins.
After NCC got very badly jacked by dearest kick-people-in-bed-ahem-kailun year head. Argh.....identifying girls' swimsuit colors?!?!?! so much for welfare from year head. haha. :D
ps. I'm so enthu about Bio. Actually shelving all my work just to do my assignment. o.0

My one true day of holiday. Yay!
15 Mar: Sat
Went back to school (AH!!!!) at 8.45 for Project Management workshop. Talked to Benjamin, Shaun, Daron and Sam for a while. Workshop appeared quite useful but was not so interesting. And with the right company, we were just goofing off. And I folded a paper crane from mahjong paper. Ok, that says a lot.
Went to J8 to meet Serrupu for movie with Sam, Daron and Benjo. Collect tickets for Step Up 2: The Streets before going to Cartel for lunch (owe serrupu $20). Was gossiping about teachers. Haha. Serrupu also found out about the Bishan Gentleman and threatened us by clapping his hands and asking for 肉丝 to pop up.
Daron and Benjo then left whilst Sam, Serrupu and I went for movie. Serrupu pulled out a one day old flatten bread from his bag and started eating. [!!] Movie was quite good but we got interrupted thrice. Two times were halfway through the movie, the cinema suddenly cut everything and turn on all the lights. Happend across the whole theater. Third time was when they were apologizing for the interruption, thereby interrupting us somemore. Sheesh....
Serrupu wanted a refund but since the tickets were free, wasn't anything to refund anyway. Haha. Sam then went to buy PE attire for Kemama shop.
EDIT: Indulged myself in a $20 red notebook and had a most wonderful dinner. :D
16 Mar: Sun
Dying terrible death now. Haven't started my holiday homework and I actually spent about 2 hours blogging and reading blogs. o.0

1 week in a post ~1000 wrds
8 Mar: Sat
Today was IT fair as well as start of holidays. Went to Suntec in the afternoon. Spent about 1.5 hours just getting through the crowd and into the exhibition hall. Met Kailun and Daron at CityLink Mall Prints. Wanted to get a nice notebook (paper kind, not the laptop) but didn't see any I liked.
After collecting/being bombarded by enough brochures to compile a book, we finally went around looking for the thing I really wanted, a big screen LCD monitor. Saw one rather nice one but you had to buy the whole computer set and everything. Was dearly tempted too but that was like so extravagant.
Settled for an ASUS 22' widescreen one at $489. Still within budget. Also got a thumbdrive (4GB, $32) and very very cheap keyboard and mouse. Yay! New workstation.
Then, went to celebrate my brother's birthday at Kuishin-Bo. Stuffed myself silly there but hey, the food was really good. There was a chocolate fountain too so I ended up drawing stuff on the plates. XD
9 Mar: Sun
Set up my workstation and packed for camp. Slacked off the whole day. o.0
10 Mar: Mon
Ah, beginning of my 5 day back to school week. Had NCC camp. Reported at about 7.20 as I had to go submit my GeogRAphy assignment. Though I was late as everyone was like falling in. Camp got off to a not so good start with push-ups (many!). Couldn't really do too much as my stomach still hurt from dieherra.
Then did some random stuff (aka, revising IFC) in the classrooms before we had lunch. Food was acceptable. but not enough vegetables. Then it rained! Which was like Thank God cause it met NO camo in the rash-causing red-ant infested mini jungle. Reduced to some history essay. Ha!
So, we did IFC.
First station was range card. Scores were bad. Well, I have like no sense of estimation anyway. Then was range indication. Ended up indicating the flagpoles whilst facing the canteen (Squad, Right, about 40m, Astro turf, tall and silver [?!?]. FIRE!).
Then moved on to Camo, in class 4B! Was some stupid History question [15m] which asked how different techinques aid in camo. (Shape, Shine, Silhouette, Shadow, Space, Color).
Had sentry duty afterwards. Don't think I did well coz I wans't enthu enough. -.-"
Tactical movement was as usual. Fullstop.
Turned out I was tied fourth with Max in the end.
Then had free time [?!?!?! discipline camp?!?!] to slack. Was talking to Sec 1s and doing differentiation on the board. [Math in UG camp?!?!?!?!? o.0] Had dinner then Fright Night!
Watched Dark Water (seriously, I don't like horror movies). Then started randoming around the school led by light sticks. Started behaving very bitchily and the whole group just kept screaming in high-pitched voices. Haha. Got grabbed from the back twice.....one by Kieth and someone else.
Final station was PB room. Was drinking NEWater (free of hair!) there from the storeroom.
Had solo night after that. Slept at Raja block 3 floor, furtherest from toilet. Only fear was freezing to death (which happened). And the light was on.
11 Mar: Tues
Woke up late but still had time to brush teeth. Most didn't at all. Then, we got PT/punishment which was push-ups. Shall skip this. Did drills. Like one person at far end of raffles square and platoon diagonally opposite. Finished that, then sat down to slack/talk, after hentakking into a car 11 times as punishment for auto-piloting. Played floorball (violent tenancies) before lunch.
After lunch was really completely slack. Were in classroom teaching cheers till like 5? Sec 2s left at 4 btw. Got called for OOC interview (shock!). Contents restricted of course.
Dinner then more movie. Tears of the Sun, NC-16 - Violence. Some random war movie lah. About human conflict/horrors of war and stuff. Was ok. After that was war games. Got chased from clock tower till Admin block. Urgh. Got fragged 4 times. First time punishment was gambling (sissor paper stone: if I lost, 50 push ups). Well, I won. Second was 40 sec holding push up. Third was a math question. (10 secs, find x) Oh c'mon....seriously larh.
Fourth I got jacked (discrimination against GeogRAphy people loh)....capital of Ethiopia?! and capital of Eygpt....ans: E.
Then at abotu 23.30, OOC platoon called out to do drills. Hence, did drills until like 1.30 am. and push ups of course. didn't get to bathe so just washed up, powder bath and sleep.
12 Mar: Wed
Had parade (leg cramp) before zaoing home in taxi. Then, bathe, eat, wash clothes sleep. Planned to go for ICC camp at 7 but overslept. Decided to go tomorrow.
13 Mar: Thurs
ICC camp day 2. Breakfast was bread and margarine. Thank God I ate before I went. Got assigned to Group 8 (not too responsive) and kept mixing up names. XD Went to Sim Lim for some random challenge. Pretended to buy stuff but finally gave up and just directly said : "Hi, we are doing a project and we need your advice, could you help?" kind of stuff. And it worked.
Went back to school about 1 hour off schedule and had some rubbish design-a-futuristic computer challenge. MacPaper?!?! Random robotics propaganda (robotics are behaving very EXCO-ish) before screwed up dinner at dinning hall. Had night games (got damn pissed off with some insensitive arseholes) that night. Ok, it was so random larh. Ended at 11. Then, lots of sec 3s zao home, which you could. Just say: "Manek, I'm not staying overnight" So dumb to have actually stayed loh. Haiz....Slept at 12 +.
14 Mar: Fri
Woke up at abou1 8.10 am. Talk about slack camps. Then skipped breakfast (thanks Sam for his sandwich). Went to Science centre. Actually saw the answers beforehand so went around tell pple loh. Must share right?
Came back to school for TQ and got flamed by Yap.
Went home and made a new gloomier design...haiz, reflect my mood sia.

English Blog Post 1 (i.e. Mrs Nathan, please read this!!)
Article
Parents, beware the emo kids
Section: Home
By: SANDRA DAVIE
Publication: The Straits Times 19/03/2007
Page: H2
Source: Newslink (Use search terms: beware the emo; it is the first returned result)
Synopsis
Emo, or slang for emotional, is a current teenage trend of, well, being emotional. “Emoness” is a angst filled teen sub-culture characterized by activities ranging from expression of oneself through poems or in more serious cases, self-mutilation (the commonly-mention “slash wrist”) or even suicidal ideations. To most emo teens, this is just another form of self-expression. It is an outlet for them to relieve stress and perhaps, escape from their angst-fueled world. However, this has raised concerns among some that when teenagers take this fad to an extreme, they could end up hurting themselves. One good example would be wrist slashing. I quote “The Straits Times reported that a group of 12-year-olds in an all-girls primary school made a collective pact and slashed their arms with penknives.” Others included slashing one’s wrist out of curiosity, following the fad blindly as mentioned in the article. What is most worrying is that these teenagers hide their scars and parents do not know about it. This could result in teenagers seriously hurting themselves.
Personal Commentary
After a lengthy, dragged-out greeting, you take your seat as the teacher beings the lesson. Getting into a comfortable position to “inconspicuously” fall asleep, you let your mind drift off.
Or at least until you see the stack of papers the teacher pulls out.
Yes, those are the dreaded answer scripts to that ridiculously tough test you took a week ago. And in that second, everyone’s attention perks up. As names got called, many returned with looks of angst and dismay. Almost immediately, phrase like “Dang, I screwed up Q5!” “AH! I feel emo now!”
Emo. A word frequented by teens. In this face-paced, highly competitive society, it is inevitable that us students come under tremendous stress. Faced with endless assignments and oh-so-common Common Class Tests coupled with CCA commitments, it is rare that one doesn’t get high expectations of oneself, be it from parents or personally.
When we (a student as well as a human) fail, we feel upset and seek to express this emotion. Yet we fear judgment of being labeled or we just don’t want to express it. But in either case, most of us turn to being emo.
Being emotional isn’t all bad. It is still an outlet of expression. However, it is the consequences of that expression that is worrisome.
Suicidal ideations and “wrist-slashing” are commonly associated with “emoness”. As a person who has “emoed”, I can understand that feeling of denial and despair that comes with it. Desperately finishing a Geography essay at 2 am brings about “emoness”. (Not) Coping with simultaneously ongoing projects (e.g. Prefects' Investiture and Social Studies project) makes people emo. It is when that feeling overwhelms teens that they start hurting ourselves. It is illogical that it brings about relieve.
It is when things are taken too far that alarm bells go into overdrive. By “slashing wrist”, teens not only inflict serious hurt upon themselves but cause others to worry for them. From an outsider’s perspective, one might comment that we teens live in such as safe place. Most don’t have to worry about food or lodging.
However, I feel that being emo is not about worries but more of an attention-seeking plea. When we are in states of denial, what we need most is concern. By writing suicide notes and wrist-slashing, we merely want someone to notice us. A simple chat could lift one up quite a fair bit.
“Emoness” isn’t really something that we can control. More importantly is about coming to terms with it. A good way to stop “emoing” is to let go. If you really cannot do it, just do it to the best you can. After all, fretting over it would not change things. And if need be, talk to someone; a teacher, a friend or a parent. As an “emo kiah (hokkien for child)”, it truly helps. Failures are unavoidable truths of life. After all, no human is perfect.
And perhaps someday, “emoness” would be phased out, just like bubble tea.

NEmation II
Haven't been blogging these few days to catch up on some sleep (12 hrs). Shall cut to the chase.
NEmation II Prize Presentation Ceremony was today. We won second runners up, or simple, third. Personally, it was quite a big shock as I didn't believe that we could but then again, we did. I suppose I'm supposed to be happy but honestly, I couldn't really feel very happy. The competition brought me very little happy memories. And I thank those who did it.

Prefects!

Haha,Programmer and I

zOMG. I'm totally camwhoring.

Things I stuffed into my bag today.

Ok, I'm random
And then, I decided to reward myself with a haircut and bought more G2 colored pens. My latest obsession.

Yes, i have 9 different colors at last count.

I'm so going to buy some more soon.
ironically, i feel emo. why, i know not.
